Process Explorer gives you a realtime list of every process running on your machine, as well as all of their handles, DLLs, files, hooks and threads.

This site has the best collection of realtime system monitoring tools I have ever seen. They have tools that can monitor open ports, packet exchanges, hard drive activity, registry activity, CPU activity, serial/parallel port activity, and many more. This site is a must for any programmer.
Most of the software is open-source freeware and is compatabile with most versions of Windows.
